Wonderful resort for our vacation! Chris at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The whole staff was very polite and courteous. I was pleasantly surprised that every staff member we encountered offered a warm greeting and a smile! Great location, perfect sugar sand beach! The building isn't new by any means but it's been remodeled recently enough to appear modern. Clean rooms amazing amenities and access to multiple other resorts each with there own bars, restaurants and unique amenities.

Our experience at this resort was great other then the beds being uncomfortable. When we first arrived at the property all the staff were very friendly and eager to help right away. We were surprised when we got to our room to have a ocean view room! We enjoyed the food at the GulfSide Grill, ate there every morning for breakfast. The wait staff was awesome, we really enjoyed Denise, super friendly and on top of everything. Even the cook came by to see how our meals were. The best part of this resort is being right on the ocean, views couldn’t be any better!

Let’s start with the pros.

Pros: the beach. Which isn’t even a pro because any resort on this strip will have access to the St. Pete Beach.

The staff were very nice. Super helpful when you needed them and genuinely cared about my safety.

Now for Cons:

This place is a “better” motel for the price of a prestigious resort. The owner should be ashamed of himself
The place was disgusting. There were so many junkies on the resort. There’s little choices for food if you’re hungry. ALL the amenities that are so called part of the resort were literally closed besides this ridiculous inflatable slide. Everything thing else was by a third party water sport company and prices were $70+ to enjoy them for 30mins.

THE ROOMS WERE HIDEOUS, OLD AND OUTDATED. First night, my room was leaking water from the ceiling and bugs were coming into the room. The beds are SO UNCOMFORTABLE. We had back pain for a week sleeping on those cheap beds.

Long story short, GO ELSE WHERE. I for sure am never coming back and the entire time wished I went to the Don Cesar like I had planned.

I'd like to thank Jonathan in reservations for helping us secure a great room. Chris at the front desk knows hospitality inside, and out. Thank you for elevating my stay with my daughters. Zema the security guard treated my family like it was his own, I couldn't be more grateful for his thoughtfulness. Tina in the Gulf Cafe was great at breakfast. Angela in housekeeping made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks to all for a memorable stay, looking forward to our next stay with you!!

We are locals and stayed here for a night because of a certificate we got for a discounted stay. If I was paying full price I wouldn’t have been happy.
First, both of the resorts (Island Grand and Rum Fish) are really cool and have a lot to do. Lots of great restaurants. Some activities that we were interested in weren’t going on, I assume because it was the off season and chilly that day? If you stay at one you have access to both. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and checking out the place. The beach access is amazing and the main attraction of the hotels.

Our room was very spacious and had a beautiful view of the ocean with a small balcony. We had a separate bedroom, kitchenette and living room area. However, the rooms definitely need a remodel. The bathroom was very dated and worn. Hairs in the tub, shower head was awful, no water pressure and looked like it was falling off. The outlet was pushed into the wall and covered with dust. TVs were very old and dated. Kitchen area had small ants crawling around the counter. The beds were very creaky but comfortable. We could hear the people in the room next door loudly and the pipes were loud every time someone used the water. If you are going to see the beach and don’t plan to spend much time in the room, then it’s a great place to stay. Overall we really enjoyed the whole property.

It is incredible here!!! They do an amazing job at keeping the rooms and grounds clean. All the staff are incredibly kind, and wonderful at their jobs. The room we stayed in, had a beautiful view of the gulf. And you can't beat a view like that. I love St. Pete. And I hope that, I'll have the opportunity to come back again soon. Thank you Rumfish staff for a peaceful and restful retreat away from the grind of everyday life. My spouse and I had such a lovely time. And it was in no small part due to the exceptional customer service provided to us while we were there!

This resort is in a great location and close to many restaurants that have live bands. The staff at the hotel is amazing, kind and so helpful. The outdoor bar staff was great and prompt to help refill the propane on the fire pit or change out the keg. Barbara made some great drinks! The cabanas were always set up when we arrived early in the morning and David B. was always checking in to make sure nothing was needed during our stay on the beach. Great staff with smiling faces.

Very disappointed and won’t be returning. Resort prices but comparable to a Motel 6. There is nothing great about this hotel! First, it’s a very long walk to the TradeWinds; it’s not right next door. It’s very old and cheaply decorated. Our closed door literally fell off the track and we couldn’t get it back on. The hotel staff was okay but again, not great. They’re not going above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. We had 6:45 reservations for dinner at the restaurant and they didn’t seat us until 8:45. It was a wedding rehearsal dinner (the wedding was at the TradeWinds the next day) but we weren’t a priority. The only good thing is Coconut Charlie’s next door at the Hilton Garden. It’s newly renovated and had great food and service. We spent most of our time there and will be going back.
