St. Lucie County Library - Hurston Branch

The librarians are the loudest individuals at this library. The clientele just follow their lead. Consequently, it makes it hard to have a productive study session at this facility.

The librarians at this branch are the nicest. So what if they’re kid friendly? Not only do they help dozens of children or “clientele” in the neighborhood, they are role models, and they encourage each child on good, and bad days. Plus they know each child by NAME. It’s one of the only places they feel safe. Please share love, and kindness to all.

The Kilmer Branch is much larger library and has an upstairs quiet adult section it’s only a half a mile away.

Kids’ area is super loud. If you are studying on the other side of the library you can still hear them playing and talking. They should have a policy about silence, even in kids area. They are not reading, they are playing in computers and talking. The librarians talk loud too, like if they were outside chatting with friends. So the same with the people that come in. Employees talk loud, so the people that come in talk loud to them too. I’ve never been in a library like this. Libraries are quiet, minimum noise, a place to read, study... thing I couldn’t do in the best way.

I honestly love the family like relationship of the staff and that's the type of vibe you get when you enter. The kids are sometimes loud but gets puts in thier place when it gets out of hand. The kids love being there and the staff is so helpful and understanding with everything. It's small with an lot of diversity inside.

All the librarians are super friendly. Me and my kids always go for the story time with Mrs. Alex. She's amazing. My son loves Mega Bloks table and kids zone. There are a lot of kids and teenagers books. They will have a fish tank pretty soon. Can't wait 😀

Humbled and honored to visit this location in honor of Zora Neale Hurston. I was certainly standing in the presence of greatness.

The library is very nice . The librarians that work there ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT
