The Toasted Monkey

A nice bar with a casual laid back atmosphere. There’s a large area on ground level that is covered and offers live music, and a small upstairs/roof bar that’s a great spot for people/car/boat watching. There’s two parking lots that offer free parking for both Toasted Monkey and Buoy’s next door, though the lots full up quickly.

Very yummy. Love the food and drink options. Great poke bowls and lettuce wrap appetizer! Took my kids and they enjoyed as well. Pulled pork sandwich was very tasty. Quality and price match at this establishment. Outside & inside seating. Outside had live music that was pleasant.

This location has been a challenge for several restaurants, but I think this one has finally figured it out. The food is good, it's consistent, and the service is great. I love how they finally enclosed the area for the bands, which they have every day. It's very popular, which can sometimes mean it's hard to find parking, but as a local, I just use the free beach ride services. They also have a sister restaurant next door (Bouys) which has a dock and the same quality food and service.

Update 8/13/2022: Went back on a Sunday afternoon to listen to live music and have some lunch. It was very busy and we got seated behind the band which turned out to be a very good vantage point! After not getting service for about 15 minutes, we asked at the host stand and got served almost immediately. Food was great as usual and our server was very attentive the whole time we were there. Love the live music!! This was the steak Philly and the tuna tacos.

The chicken avocado bacon sandwich ($12.99) was absolutely amazing! I would come back just for that sandwich alone. The fries were good. Margaritas are $8.54 each. The vegetarian nachos ($9.99) were okay, if the shredded cheese had been melted it would have been even better. I order nachos A LOT almost everywhere I go so that’s why I’m a critic on that one 😜 The key lime pie was absolutely mouth watering! I forgot to snap a picture of that one but it comes with 3 small pieces all with whip cream on each one, (still the size of 1 slice) makes it easier to share. The price of the pie was $5.99. The band was awesome. We will be back here again.

Super cool beach vibe bar and restaurant. Food was very good. Service was friendly and accommodating to small children. It is a big place but is usually very busy. The salads were fresh. The calamari was very good compared to other bar appetizers we have had. The Cuban sandwich was a hit with several party members! Definitely worth a try if you are in the area!

What a great place! We came from North Port to watch our friend's band 22N, and they were awesome!! The food was really good, all the staff were friendly and it's an amazing view. Right across the street from St. Pete Beach, so you know it's nice. I didn't go up, but I saw an upper deck that looks like you can see the beach from and probably a beautiful sunset. We will be back for sure!!

The Chili Lime Shrimp was very tasty but not at all filling. A little more rice or more shrimp would be great! The Beyond burger was good but nothing out of the ordinary. As for the sweet potato fries, they were over cooked and burnt.
