Island Gypsy Cafe & Marina Bar

We (literally) stumbled upon Island Gypsy after a few too many toasts on our nearby Cool Beans cruise waylaid us in the area. What a wonderful surprise! The setting was gorgeous and comfortable, but best was the food and the service. Hat tip to our amazing server Morgan - she wasn’t wrong, the onion rings really were the best ever! Truly everything we ate was absolutely fantastic, and you have to save room for dessert to share! Thank you Island Gypsy for such a lovely evening - and for playing the Packer game! 🤣

Loved it here. The service was very friendly and incredibly fast. Our server was on point and he had a great attitude and a nice mustache ;).

We had the lobster Reuben and the grouper. Both were very good. And of course the carrot cake. Next time I had the jerk chicken, and it was amazing!

Great ambiance and environment all around. Good mix of relaxing and energetic vibe.

My husband and I hadn't been to Isles of Capri in years. It was a beautiful day so we went for a drive and found ourselves there.

We got a lovely table by the water. Service was slow but they were very busy and they were working very hard to take care of everyone.

I got the grouper sandwich. It was blackened and even though it was delicious 😋, the portion was extremely small. More bread than fish, which was disappointing, but still tasty. Unfortunately I left there hungry even though we also had 1/2 a pound of peel and eat shrimp cold which we're not made to order so they were not as good as they could have been.

Husband got the lobster roll sandwich which he said was very good.

We were impressed with the food and service. The PEI mussels and garlic bread were very flavorful, Crispy Thai Chicken was amazing. The rice, sauce and asparagus combined had so much flavor and the chicken was very tender not dry at all. Coconut shrimp was good and my son like the chicken strips and fries. The 1 1/2 pound carrot cake is amazing, it is moist but light flavored with Carmel and pecans, so good to eat there and take the rest home; must try! The views are very nice of the marina and river area. We stopped after renting a pontoon next door at aisle of Capri Marina.

Well worth the 45 minute wait, with onion rings I would happily travel across state lines for. Spent our wait time in the gift shop playing on giant tongue drums and as you can see we liked the restaurant so much we bought matching shirts. Our grandma swears the lobster salad is the best in the state, even though I'm more of a coconut shrimp guy 🍤 We all got food we loved and excellent service despite how busy it was. Also pretty amazing how many people fit in the space without it feeling overcrowded. Excellent view of the ocean/everglades. 10/10 we will definitely be coming here every time we visit Marco Island 🏝️

This place is amazing!! We were down in Marco doing some shopping and found this place on Google. It’s on the water in Capri - such a cute place with a great vibe! I saw lots of amazing reviews on the onion rings and they did not disappoint! Loved the sauce they came with! We got the cheeseburgers with fries and they were amazing! Our server was very friendly and the wait was only about 10mins. Really fun to sit on the water and watch the boats and birds! Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area!! I will be going back to try some of their drinks and carrot cake!

Service is really great. Appetiser was served very quick and main food came in pretty fast after it. Food tastes amazing, mussels definitely worse of trying. A bit pricey but worth it.

The food was incredible, the atmosphere is so relaxing, the wait staff (especially Kelly) are very friendly and attentive, and the views are perfect. We’ve been 2 years in a row when we come to Florida to visit and have never been disappointed. Well worth the wait and I highly recommend drinking a Capri Blues, eating some onion rings and finishing with their incredible Carrot Cake but beware it IS the size of your head.
