I went to BMC of Abilene Texas to purchase hardwood flooring my a house we are having built.
The lady that handles the flooring section is hard to catch at her work area.
We really liked the selection of hard wood flooring and did purchase the one we wanted.
A few days later we ordered three transition strips just to learn we would not need them.
Upon trying to return the strips, we were at that time told they were special order and we could not return them. Then we were told that if for some reason we were allowed to return the transition strips we would be charged a 30% restocking fee.
The sad thing is that we were never told up front the strips could not be returned and only after trying to return them, was we shown the print on the receipt that it could not be returned. Funny how that works for The advantage of BMC, since you do not get a receipt until you have paid for the product.
The staff is eager to sell you stuff, but very reluctant to help in an issue such as we encountered.
We feel we have been mislead and wonder how many more people have experienced this same issue, with BMC.

Cashier lady was very sweet. The rest of the men employees didn't even acknowledge I was in the store. I had called about a specific item, located it myself. Then wanted to locate a trap for my bathroom sink. Received no help, ended up getting the wrong one so I'll have to return it to get my money. Barely any items on the shelves to choose from. I wanted to check on wood fence picket prices but if they don't wish to assist me because I'm not a contractor or they perceived since I was a woman I wasn't knowledgeable about anything therefore not "worthy" of their time or effort. I'm very disappointed in their customer service. No wonder the "big box" stores are busy. I try to shop locally owned Abilene businesses, but this is one I will avoid.

Both times I have worked with BMC Abilene, it has been a terrible experience.... get a solid written down, signed quote, because they will tell you one price to get the order, then charge you another price when you go to pick up. I would steer you away from this company.

Horrible customer service. I was told our order would be delivered on one date, they never came. the next day, I mentioned no one would be home and if they could please place in our backyard under carport..came home and it was sitting right at my front door. they claimed they called to let us know they couldn’t “place it in the backyard” yet we didn’t receive not one call. if I could give 0 stars, I definitely would. highly do not recommend this place.

The archery department in the store is a hidden gem! Jon is awesome, absolutely the best experience I ever had dealing with a person at a archery store!!

Recommend checking out their archery shop. Jon, was super helpful and knowledgeable on the latest archery tackle.
