South Zoo

One of the main attractions in the beautiful city of Abha. Small but a variety of animals. When I visited the zoo in the month of November 2017 entry ticket was 20 riyal per entry. The zoo is not big so many animals are on cages only. You can click photographs with a big red and white parrots and a python as well with the help of zoo employees by giving little money to them. Worth a visit.

Very well maintained and clean area, variety of animals is very good. Animals look healthy and fresh, kids really enjoyed the time we spent there. Staff is friendly and supportive. Highly recommended for families and groups if you do visit Abha.

Place is good for kids, the down side is that the entrance fee is Expensive also the place smells bad and not maintained well. Tha cages are dirty and the animals looks thin and messy.

To take some photos with baby lion and with some birds and snakes we have to pay extra money..

3 stars because they have a wide variety of animals and you can interact with some of them, and the entrance fee is cheap (20SAR for people aged 5+). However the cages are dirty and the zoo is very smelly. All the animals looked very tired and bored, most were sleeping. In some very small cages two big cats are put together, the big birds are put in very small cages that they don’t even have space to fly or spread their wings. The most heartbreaking thing to see was one monkey chained inside a very big cage, unable to move or play. I saw him struggle to remove the chains around his neck 💔.

Nice place to visit along with your children's, lots of animals and birds to see in real and you can take photos with Parrot and Tiger cub.

Visited 27th July 2021 with family.
Very nice zoo. A little bit smaller but size doesn't matter really.
A lot of lions and tigers makes it more attractive.
Weather of valley was very nice during our visit.
I must say entry tickets were cheap only SR 20 for adults and they charged half for one kid who was 8 years old . Three others kids entered free.
Please note there is no electronic card facility and you must pay cash.
Cobra show was also amazing.
Eagles and vulture were spectacular too.

Sad to see these magnificent creatures caged. But kids will have good time here as it is an opportunity to see wild animals. 20 Sar for adults and free for kids
