We love Susanna Inn. The white walls and bright murals painted are beautiful and welcoming. Our room was right next to the roaring river and we were able to open our window at night and hear the sound of the river. Breakfast was delicious! The hotel staff allowed us to store our bags with them late into the afternoon. One of them even fixed my husbands luggage handle that had broken. We would definitely stay again!

Stayed here in March 2021 and really enjoyed it. It’s a simple and clean hotel in a good location. Overall, a very good value. Location was good (Auga Calientes is so small, I don’t think there is a bad location). This place was super easy to get to from the train and has a very unique, memorable view with the river right outside your window.

This was both the worst and best place we’ve stayed on our trip, hence the 3 stars.
Worst: We asked for a room with 2 twin beds and got room 401, which had one double bed. The shower drain, wifi, tv, and refrigerator all did not work. It was extremely hot, stuffy, and loud due to its position right over the train station facing the sun. We were kept up all night by the sound of train horns and other guests in the halls. For those with an imagination, the train tracks are within a dice throw of the hotel facade. Also, the hot water did not work when we arrived, but this was fixed within a couple hours.
Best: A very nice woman at the front desk allowed us to switch rooms on the second night when we informed her of the problems. We got a cool, quiet room (with two beds) overlooking the river rather than the train station, with completely functional amenities. Falling asleep to the natural sound of the rushing river was sublime. The front desk staff was so kind to help us out. Also the breakfast was the best we’ve had, the pictures shared on this site of the dining room do not do it justice!

Super clean, spacious rooms, good breakfast (bread, cheese/ham, fruit, eggs). The river view is very cool and LOUD with the window open. Would absolutely stay there again. This is the view from our window on the 3rd floor.

Read the fine print and make sure you know exactly what room you are booking. If you can’t book a river view room then don’t bother staying here. The interior room we had was horrible, you could hear everyone around you, a water pipe from the rooms above ran down the wall right next to my bed all night and there was no window to the outside, only a window to the interior staircase which had a bright light shining into the room. Even though photos online show a window, let it be known that this is not a real window to the outside, only to a hallway/staircase. Now, had I known and booked a river view room I would assume I’d give this place a 5 star review as well. The view of the river during breakfast was spectacular and the served breakfast was exactly what we needed to make the trek up to Machu Picchu, if I ever return I would stay here but make sure i booked a different room. Staff was also very friendly and held our larger bags during the day while we visited Machu Picchu. Room was the worst of my trip, but, location, breakfast and staff was the best of my trip.

We booked few months ahead to have a water view but when we came today our window faces train rails with trains parking and smells right at our window. It’s so nosy and smelly. When we asked to have other room they said no. I ordered ahead and they did even bother . Wifi is poor and we don’t have a good connection on a third floor . I would recommend to spend little bit more money and to choose something better.

I booked with Expedia for 2 double beds and on the pictures of the room we had a window … when we arrived they give us 1 double bed… told them we need 2 beds, they put us in a room without any windows … after a few moments and arguing they give us the room without any extra fees. They didint do the room went we left for the day… you are just bellow the train tracks so be ready to shake and awake early in the morning … and isolation of the room is poor… Breakfast was great but that was pretty much it …

Would recommend against booking at this hotel. We booked for a night at this place at the end of October. When we arrived for check in, we were told that the "hot water in our room was broken." We were promptly scuttled across the street their sister hotel Adventure House. No notice was given in advance. No financial compensation for worse accommodations were offered. Makes you wonder... anyways, would recommend a different option for sure.
