Anyone going to the US Consulate please make sure DO.NOT take anything with you except the absolute documents required in there.

Going through security is a nightmare they check everything. Apart from that the ACS services are very well organized people listen to you and work with you to find solutions. Great experience overall. Satisfied apart from the horrible morning traffic of course.

CG Makaneole participated in the closing ceremony of Professional Development of Novice English Teachers (PDNET) which is a fully funded five-day residential training for novice and prospective English language teachers.

Sixty teachers from all over Punjab participated in this training. Catch a few scenes from the ceremony here.

I went to get my passport. The interaction with the security guards was very good. They treat us friendly. There was no barrier in way to reach the desired place however, this does not means that security guard don't care about who is going in and out.

Needed urgent assistance from "My" consulate during a recent visit to Lahore. Unfortunately the private security and lady they appointed outside simply check your passport, wishfully and enviously rubbing it as if it will magically make them/take them to America themself and simply deny your request for consular help. This is a very unhelpful place, if you're an American who needs help without even letting you enter the building, I am sorry and may God help you since this consulate is pretty much useless....

In Covid times, getting an appointment is only through email, and only for very few reasons. There is no wait line, inside or out, which is pretty cool.
I expected that there would be more hand sanitizer, temperature checking, etc, inside the consulate building, but the only visible precaution is persistent mask wearing. Even that, they will ask you to remove your mask for id.
As usual, they won't let you carry any electronic devices in, and they don't even have any magazines in their waiting area to entertain you. It can take several hours of waiting there, so that's not cool. Also, make sure to print out any information or documents you might need, as info on your phone won't be accessible. If you don't have some info, you will need to come again with a second appointment to go through this rigmarole again. Also remember to print out the appointment letter and bring it with you.

This place is an embarrassment for Americans. I as an American citizen had no luck getting any help from them in a foreign land (third world country and well adopted third world US consulate). I regret calling them and wasting my time visiting this god forbid place in person. I would highly recommend Americans to go to Islamabad instead of this hole in the wall.
