Old Lockhart House

This old and beautiful house, once belonged to late General Sir William Lockhart (1841-1900) , during British times. He and his family used to love Abbottabad and stayed here each summer. Later on, after 1947 independence of Pakistan, this house became part of the FG Boys School campus, and was used as a staff residence l, and at one time, even some additional classes were held here. After 1966, it remained empty mostly. Als, now its in very poor condition and there has been a lot of speculation that the local Military Estates Office and Municipal Board might demolish this historical building /landmark. Perhaps, it might be a better idea to preserve and restore it, and make it into a small museum or library or some such place. Im certain many Pakistanis as well as foreign tourists might love to visit it.

This is the historical Old Lockhart House, now its in poor condition, but it belonged to the famous General Lockhart, during British Raj.
