Very nice venue, price for admission is very reasonable. Staff are quite helpful even to a non latvian/Russian speaker. Highly recommend to visit

So beautiful and historical... Golden coloured decorations, heavy red courtains, all the tapestry and comfy chairs - it is pleasure to be in the building itself. And the theater peaces are of a very high level as well

The oldest professional state financed theatre in Latvia. Always they have something outstanding to present. Compilation of Shakeseare's tragedies was magnificent not to mention other successes like musicals composed by Kārlis Lācis. One cannot stop love beautifully singing actors!

One of the oldest theaters in Riga, it offers wide variety of theater shows. The program is possibly more classically oriented than experimental, but still it's a good place to spend an evening. And also you can view the nice exterior and combine it with a visit to Old Town. The parking is a problem though as is any place near old town.

Beautiful place, especially significant for Latvian History as the Independence Restoration was signed exactly there in 1918. But of course, if you plan visiting and seeing a play, it's quite a lottery whether you'll like the experience or not.

Glad to see that repertoire is getting better and this theater gains more of my love. The building is also beautiful and historical - the independence of Latvia was proclaimed on November 18 at this theater 🇱🇻
Highly recommend to visit
