Ansamblis, picas un burgeri Rīgā

I've walked past this many times and it seemed interesting. Today I decided to pay them a visit.

What a wonderful place! Its a bit far from the centre, but near where I live, so location is perfect for me. The menus were only in Latvian, no English. I only know some Latvian so I had to guess what half of the ingredients were (because a real man does not ask ;)) Luckily the lady knew enough English to translate me what she talked to me.

Ordered the Ansamblis burger and a beer. Fairly good selection of beer (at least 5 beers on tap + at least 1 in bottle, compared to 1-2 in most places) and lots of spirits and wine.

Fairly expensive to my taste, considering the location, I paid 5,50€ for the burger and 7€ as a meal with fries and mayo. 0,5l beer was under 3€ though, which is below average. Pizzas they sell only as slices and 45cm which's prices range from 9,80€ to 20€ (if I remember correctly). They have some salads and other dishes, but mainly pizzas.

Burger was big and tasty, a lot of stuff inside it. Fries were kind of basic, but the herbs on top saved them. Cucumber mayo wasn't for my taste but at least it had some real pickles in it.

I would really recommend this :)

Amazing pizza. Amazing burgers. They even have different kinds of cider which is nice. Need more seating outside though.

Very simple interior, quite large menu and adequate prices. The burger was big and tasty. Homemade chokeberry drink was very good, it also can be bought.

Grate pizza, grate music, nice and cozy, in a decent location, has quite creative decorating, if you're a fan of heavier music, could be quite worthwhile to visit, especially if some band has a gig that night. Could've been better geographically situated, but the location gives its vibe.

I ate here last weekend and unfortunately can't say my experience was particularly pleasant and it was not up to the 4.6 stars as rated on Google.

The waitress was very rude to us -I had gone to the till to ask for a menu as there wasn't one at the table; to which the waitress didn't believe me and told us to take some from the other tables. When she came with me, she ripped the menus off every table around and forcefully dropped them in front of us (there were only 2 of us by the way). Afterwards, she didn't take them away, we had take get rid of them all ourselves. I was shocked at this rude behaviour and her attitude didn't get better throughout the night. As well, the glasses we were given for water were very dirty.

In terms of the food, our pizzas were actually very nice, but our experience was was tarnished by the unprofessional and rude waitress.
