Vina bars Garage

I come back to Rīga once a year and Garage vine bar and restaurant is always on my list and it never disappoints. Their beef tartare is exceptional and the beet root cream soup is something I will crave forever. Excellent atmosphere, service and location. Treat yourself!

The place is mainly for vine and konjak lovers however, they found beer for us as well. Short menu but everything is tasty even tuna (that was the best good tuna I've tried in Riga). Prices are reasonable and the view outside the windows is excellent. Strongly recommended!

We had a light lunch with tapas. Unique atmosphere, lovely location, professional staff. Tapas were good but they can be improved. The wine was just perfect. Recommended.

Excellent food, excellent wine, excellent service. Gorgeous interior, could find no faults. Very reasonably priced. Will return.

First I want to say that the food was amazing. Probably this is the one of the best restaurants in Riga. Why I scored it with one point ? The service was awful. I came with my wife and the waitress lady ( black hair) was very rude to us, serving food and wine without any single word. No please, no thank you, literally nothing. Even when I paid the bill she turned around without any thank you for your visit. Restaurant with this ambient needs a proper service, no doubt. When I asked her to call the manager, she said “I’m the manager “ really ? Great restaurant but service like in the hamburger kiosk. This person cannot serve the people, especially when you come with an attractive wife.
Additionally the bill was written at the piece of paper… no fiscal document. This is unbelievable.

Food was good, but you can also support much with the level of service, or level of service can also decrease the total feeling of the place. These are small details, but do still affect - come and ask for more drinks, be pro-active in general ('is everything ok ?'- which is also a natural situation for you to offer more drinks and for the customer to say if they are in need of something), be there for the customer instead of the customer feeling that they are causing extra work (which we were not, I can guarantee this). Small things that actually go a long way. To keep this place on the top restaurants in Riga - you need to go the extra mile on service.

A romantically stylish atmosphere for an intellectually friendly discussion. Super friendly service with snacks worthy of gourmets. Good wine for every taste.
