RIGA CAR RENT

I had recently rented a car from RigaCarRent, was really happy with their level of service, only new cars, got VW Golf with 1000km on it. Decent prices and loyal terms. Will definitely rent from them again when I am back in Riga. Absolutely recommend.

Being traveling to Riga few times a year, never had such a ridiculous issue.

For once I decided to give a local business a chance, oh boy I better got to proper company. Being warned before to look on company`s with new cars so they could not scam you, i`v decided to give "Riga Car rent" a chance, as most of the cars looked new. I have requested VW Golf, however I got Toyota Yaris. I`v decided not to be fussy about it and just went with it (even that my kid knows that Golf and Yaris two different classes, and most of rent company`s offer same car or the same class). It was everything fine until the last day of rent. By some kind of miracle, parked at public street, number plates of the car got stolen during the night. By some reason theft`s choose to steal those number plates from all the the cars parked there, at most lighten part of the street. When I discovered this, I`v contacted the rent company and they told me to contact police. I`v did this, they wrote report and started criminal case. Staff of rent company assured me its all good, however it will take few hours to sort the number plates. By the end of the day I got contacted by rent company staff and they had a new number plates ready, however I had to pay €75 fine because of that and they told who ever told me that everything will be fine, was wrong and I should go trough contract. At this time I could do nothing, there was no point to argue.

When I went trough contract like they said, there was nothing about it and still got charged even that I purchased extra insurance for damage. They did not offered replacement for the time being and did not refunded day without car. They agreed that it`s not in contract but still did the charge.

Now, I am not accusing here anyone, but everything sound dodgy. All cars have a gps where they see exact location of the vehicle. I know for the fact that theft of number plates are covered by insurance. I am not desperate for €75 like they are, however I will never use this company again, I will never recommend this company to anyone and I am strongly recommend you think before you plan to use services of this company.

Funny that one of their staff, on the moment of handing over the car, mentioned that a lot of car rent company's in Latvia earn on fake damage, insurance, scam etc.. Well how does it make "Riga Car Rent" any different?

Amazing experience! Daniel was super accommodating and delivered the car to Riga airport after hours after multiple flight delays and issues with our luggage. Had no problems with the car - it was clean, efficient and ran well! The rental process is easy - fill out the online form, the company will reach out with additional details and you’re all set until pickup. Payment and documents are due at pickup - all charges as expected and as outlined on the website. Car drop off was near the airport and there’s a van driver there who quickly took us to the airport (in under 10 minutes). Would recommend this company and will rent with them again next time we’re in Riga!

I rented vw golf for two weeks, was a pleasant experience from the very beginning till the very end. The car was delivered and picked up on time, everything was clean and in good condition. They even have aftersales))...When I realized I forgot my sunglasses it was managed very polite and delivered to my place shortly. I rented many cars a dozen times in Riga but would recommend you to look no further and just rent with them.

Riga Car Rent is the place to go to for your car rental needs. Daniel, one of the office managers, was quick to respond to my inquiries and was helpful throughout the length of our rental. The car we used (a Toyota Corolla) was delivered promptly to our hotel, was clean and the transaction was quick and transparent. The price for the three-day rental was also fair. We absolutely had no problems with the car as we drove for day trips outside of Riga.

We would not hesitate to use their services again next time we visit. Again, look for Daniel as your contact person. He is professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Clean vehicles, great customer service. No hidden fees or policies - pick your car, pick your insurance and go. Plus you get to choose a specific car and not a class which for me was very important.
