A lovely small store for (mostly) used books in English. They also have cakes and coffee. Very friendly service. A gem!

We came to Robert's Books to play music in their beautiful outside terrace. We found warm and welcoming people in a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. All is done for the love of books and art and good company. All praises to this great spot in Riga, looking forward to come back

Perfect local spot for a wine, black balsam dram, handing in used books for store credit or even purchasing that one book you’ve been looking for…our hostess Katrina was kind, friendly and easy-going. Looking forward to making Robert’s books one of my local go-tos. Adult toys and reading material available for purchase in back, (18+) brilliant concept!

This place is just amazing. It’s not your typical run of the mill bookstore but a place where you can explore and find hidden treasures.

There is also a café/bar where you can have good coffee and excellent cider.

Very lovely staff that made me feel super welcomed.

Special thanks to Olia whom gave me further recommendations for great places and things to do during my time in Riga.

Really made my time in Latvia so much more special 💛

If you’re a lover of good books and great atmosphere, I can really recommend this place.

I had a very unpleasant experience at Robert's Books today, and I would like to understand why. At about 16.00 we entered the shop/cafe with the intention to have a cup of coffee and browse through the shelves for some books. There was nobody at the bar, but there was a young lady sitting at a table drinking something. I could not understand why she looked at us angrily. We looked at the menu and decided what we wanted. Then, to our surprise, the lady stood up with a look “I don't want to serve you“ rolling her eyes and said "yes?" with such intonation that I felt insulted. No "hello", no "good afternoon", no "what would you like" and no smile. 😱 Very rude and utterly appalling! I have never experienced anything like this before. How can this place afford employees like this young arrogant lady who rolls her eyes and purses her lips addressing the customers! Obviously, you have lost a customer who has previously bought books and has had coffee at your place. I really wanted to show my husband a nice place for a coffee, but, alas, we had a huge disappointment. It is surprising that customers who are ready to spend money are not welcome at your place.
