What I found very interesting is that they avoid using non-local ingredients such as lemon, but no worries for those who love something sour - cocktails with the local fruit cydonia (quince) are perfect for sour lovers.

The place itself is very cozy, great atmosphere, nordic design, you can see some of the best bartenders of the region in action and if after a perfect cocktail you feel like having a late night snack, then right across the street is Mañana, where you can get tasty tacos!
Definitely recommend, just be sure to reserve a place, since it usually is very full!

Excellent and highly original cocktails. They use some unusual Nordic ingredients, including birch sap, pine, and wild cherry wine. The Ragana cocktail is especially dramatic, since it mixes two very different liquids to produce a dark, pagan-gothic drink.

Really loved the way they are more sustainable with using local ingredients and not making classic cocktails. All the cocktails we tried were really good!
The bar staff was really attentive and gave us a little intro to the place.

Great and unique cocktails, everything looks good on the menu. The interior is cozy and outdoor seats are perfect for the warm weather. And the service is excellent, too. 120% recommended.

What a great experience. The barkeepers are so kind and helpful. One of my all time favorite cocktails is the whiskey sour. Wherever I go, I order a whiskey sour. So I know what makes a good one :) tonight I had a special one made with chokeberry and it was absolutely delicious! Creamy texture of the foam, great flavors and whisky aroma and most important not sweet at all. Cozy music playing in the background and another plus: your glass of water always gets a refill :)

When entering, there was no welcoming, no smile, no nothing from bartenders when we went inside and sit to the bar. Waiter was okay and did his best. We waited 35 minutes for two drinks and those drinks were awerage, but not a cocktail bar class.

Taste of the north - the bar staff is making the ingredients for the cocktails from scratch. Some of the ingredients are homemade combucha or any other local fermented herb or berry. The cocktails are well balanced and the staff is amazing. You will definitely enjoy your stay and have a very good time at the gimlet nordic cocktailbar in riga.
