Cynic Bar

Cynic Bar in Riga. Where do I start. Easily the best bar in Riga and quite possibly in Europe. This cocktail bar has a menu based on TV and film and the mixologists get really creative. We were fortunate enough to visit on a Wednesday (a quieter night) and Tom our server was so attentive and offered his expertise as we worked our way through the menu 🍹 I've just visited a bar in Athens voted by Time Out magazine as the No.4 bar in the world. They clearly haven't been to Cynic Bar...

Tasty and beautiful drinks. A bit pricey but overall good price-performance ratio taking into account that they serve original cocktails. Nice music!

The rudest service I’ve experienced in Riga. Cocktails were good though but nowadays this is not something unusual - there are plenty of nice places around. We managed to order only 1 cocktail as there was only 1 waiter who was always busy. Not even mentioning that he forgot to bring me water when I asked for it (I had to take my medicine).
Also a big surprise was that when you pay 9.5€ for one cocktail you will be additionally charged for a small cup of nuts (see on picture, ~3.5€). When I commented this as a quite strange business model the guy answered me aggressively and left. Also we never saw a bill, only the bank terminal with a number on it. Don’t recommend the place

I didn't like cocktails before a friend brought us here during our earlier visit in Riga. The waiters are very helpful and try to do their best to make you feel welcome and to help you to choose your drink. The drinks look spectacular and taste really good, making every order an experience. You just want to order one more to be taken to another adventure.
They have this very peculiar style of interacting with their customers, though, and while it helps to relax and not to feel intimidated, might feel awkward. The thing is, the waiter will come to you and have a chat with you every now and then, telling about the drinks, asking about you and so on. Depending on what kind of person you are, how good the waiter is at interacting and whether you were in an interesting chat with your friends when they interferred, the experience might vary from amazing to annoying.
Still, worth a visit, even if just once, even if you don't like cocktails.

One word- AMAZING! Tom was the best! The whole staff is gifted! This place has the best craft cocktails in Europe!!

Here you don't just get drinks.. You get an experience!
Do yourself a favour and ordre from their menu of signature drinks, rather than just something you use to drink. The taste is amazing, and the serving is often spiced with a theme related to the drink name.
Our bartender, Jurij, realy took his time with us. Both when making his amazing drinks, and for a social talk about drinks and liquer. We're definatley comming back whenever we are in Riga!

Great crafted cocktails thoughtful and developed and amazingly kind staff went out the their way to explain drinks and offer great service —we will be back— a must if visiting Riga!

A large of us stopped by here Overall it was a pretty good place, but there were a few quirky things about it that made it kind of strange. First thing was the inability to pay for drinks individually. What? When it came to paying, you had to pay for several people at once. This means that if the waiter took drink orders for 8 people, when the drinks came, one person had to pay for the round - very strange. Also, after looking at the receipt, I believe there was an automatic 10% added to the bill each time. The only bathroom is on the first floor - two people only. Could be a pretty big line if really busy. I will say that I really enjoyed the menu as they had inventive names and tasted great. I also enjoyed the table of shots I ordered for the group - great price and neat way to deliver them. I would really suggest correcting the way to pay for the drinks, as it was very off-putting to most - causing confusion on who paid for what.
