Definitely the place to relax! Very remote location - set in the hills of East Hiroshima - the hotel is quiet and beautiful. It has a really pretty garden and several painting exhibitions you can stroll through after your bath. The rooms are comfortable - Japanese style. Lots of choices for breakfast - buffet style. Dinner is amazing 13-course meals every night that didn't repeat for the 4 days we were there! The baths are standard - the men/women areas rotate each day. We were definitely stared at (which was a bit uncomfortable while naked in the baths) but then again, we do look a bit different than the locals - we expected it.
Only Japanese spoken and written. There are busses into town every 50 minutes on the main road so getting around without a car is not an issue (taxis are available as well). Takehara is also a great place to explore!

(Translated by Google) I've been wanting to go there for a long time, and finally my wish came true, so I took my parents, who love hot springs. I went there around the beginning of August, and it was crowded with many customers.
It was a building that was neither new nor old, as if it had been built a while ago, but when you enter the entrance, in the lobby, you can drink all-you-can-drink coffee cartridges, two famous sakes, and lactic acid beverages. . Also, the yukata and obi were lined up so that you could choose, but they seemed to be a little faded. I was able to choose amenities in the lobby, but they were also in the room. The lobby has large glass windows and a spacious Japanese garden that looks like a painting and can be strolled through. The care was not good enough, but I enjoyed it enough. There was also a Noh stage in the back of the garden. It seems that there was also a stage performance here. The room was a four-person room, half Western-style with two beds, and half Japanese-style with two futons. Tea and sweets were set, and there was a TV and a water heater. The room had a toilet but no bath. There are men's and women's baths in the back of the 1st floor, and the places are replaced by turns. After bathing, you can freely drink cold lemon water and hot spring water. The bathroom was large, with a rock bath and an open-air bath, and the free-flowing hot water was very comfortable. Two meals, dinner and breakfast, were included. The dinner was well seasoned and I was very satisfied with the number of items. The breakfast was also very luxurious and filling. It was about 14,000 yen per person, but I think the cost performance is very good. What caught my eye at this hotel was that masterpieces were on display throughout the hotel. When you get off the elevator on the 3rd floor, there is an art room in front of you, in which many large paintings are displayed.
The room and bath are not so new, but it was very clean and felt good.
I was very satisfied, so I decided to go again with my family.
I visited here on warm February. The room and Onsen, garden is very comfortable space. I enjoyed relaxing holiday. The dinner and breakfast are good taste, too.

(Translated by Google) Guests can enjoy 3 types of sake from check-in to 21:00 in the beautiful lobby while looking out at the garden. This time, we had all-you-can-drink special sake with gold leaf in addition to two kinds of pure rice sake. All-you-can-drink coffee is available 24 hours a day. A piano that can be played freely was also installed and the children were playing.
Many paintings are displayed in the hall and you will not get tired of walking. There is also a gallery on the third floor. The garden is designed for walking, and it is fun to see many Shigaraki raccoon dogs. It's pretty dark and scary at night, but in the morning it's a completely different look and it was fun.
The only thing I was dissatisfied with was that there was a bad smell coming from somewhere in the open-air bath. The open-air Shigaraki pot bath and the iron Goemon bath were good, so I would like to ask for improvement. Please note that the front side of the Shigaraki ware pot bath was a water bath.
Also, the sauna is lukewarm, so people who like hot saunas may need to be careful. The thermometer in a fairly high position indicated 80 to 90 degrees Celsius, and the sensible temperature was about 75 degrees Celsius.
