Caffe Terra

Walking by this shop during the Zenkoji lantern festival, we caught a whiff of something delightful. Upon closer inspection, we found that in addition to a wide selection of homemade gelato, they serve soy flavored sausages. We were skeptical at first, as being westerners we've yet to find a Japanese sausage that suits our tastes, but these were so good we kept coming back for more. If you're a homesick expat looking for a little something delicious, this is the place!

I went to this shop in January and I haven't stopped thinking about how amazing the gelato was since. The owner said he makes it all fresh everyday using fresh, local ingredients. He said he trained under a professional gelato maker in Europe. It shows, it was so good. If I could buy from him and have it shipped to me half way across the globe, I would. Please try the pink apple flavor. Fantastic!

Best ice cream in Japan. Matthew makes all flavours himself. Italian flavours. Try the espresso, it will definitely wake you up!

The street is full of soft ice-cream coffee store. This one is a hidden gem since, what they produce is not ice-cream but authentic Italian gelato!!

The coffee is also very good, in my opinion this coffee store is something different and unique.

Matthew the owner , is an Australian gentleman, who learnt in Bologna (Italy) the way to produce a tasty gelato by using the primary product of Nagano : milk.

I came here when I was a kid and it still has the same amazing taste as it did 8 years ago.

This was extraordinary. Ice cream in Japan is usually very good, but this was truly exceptional. I happened to buy some raspberry and chocolate gelato on a whim, and I'm so happy I did. The raspberry was tart and the texture was perfect. The chocolate was not too sweet, and reminded me of watching cocoa being pressed in Mexico. Worth a day trip from Tokyo!

This man is a genius. I came for a quick treat but my friends and I ended up staying for over an hour. We tasted the perfect gelato and coffee all while having an amazing conversation. What he served honestly changed my life! It made me want to leave my life behind and become his apprentice. I cannot give him enough praise, truly a magical experience!
