Edge Liquor

- [ ] Today at 12 I went to Edge Liquor in Stony Plain. I have been to this liquor store a few times with my sister and boyfriend, however this time I went in alone. I was the only customer in the store and picked out a bottle of wine and went to pay. The employee behind the counter stood up and I said “How has your weekend been? Busy?” He said just a simple “Yes”. As I was paying he leaned over the counter and touched the top of my head. I said “What are you doing, stop.” He just smiled. I quickly put my wallet in my bag and he reached over again and touched the side of my face. I turned around and left the store as fast as I could and said “Have a good day.” The last thing I wanted was to make him mad while I was in the store alone. As I was driving home my heart was beating out of my chest, I was in shock with what had just happened to me. All I could think about is “What if another girl had this happen to her, what would she do”. When I got home I called the Police Dispatchment and explained what had happened because no woman should feel that way. I understand it’s Farmers Day weekend in Stony Plain and it’s busy. But I’m posting this to bring awareness to this business and I genuinely hope that no one feels the way I felt today. For this reason I won’t be a customer anymore.

Big fan of Edge Liquor. I love the story of the entrepreneur. Back in the day there use to be a liquor chain called Solo liquor. As life goes all good things come to end which is what happened with Solo. Born from the ashes of Solo were a few good folk who decided to take the knowledge they learned and start their own liquor stores. One of these stores is Edge Liquor in Stony Plain.

I got to know the owner a little bit today when bringing him a freezer to sell my ice. I know I like this man as soon as we start chatting.

I admire owners that work 12 hours a day 5 days a week and 4 hours on one of their days off. Owner has dedicated himself to providing excellent service to his clients and beat the big chains one client at a time. The thing is I believed him. I watched how he interacts with his clients as I was doing my ice thing. You could tell he cared. It makes me excited seeing small businesses owners that care about their clients.

Was my first time in the store today, been searching high and low for bottled Caesars, they had tons in stock and he let me buy them all and then helped me get it all out to my jeep ... friendly courteous staff. Will definitely be going back.

Terrific store. I drive in from West of stony just to go there. The owners are wonderful and they honour exemptions!! My mom and I both shop here and we always recommend them to others ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
