After 11 years of loyalty (which I realise is my own fault now but I still thought it counted as something)
I have only ever made 2 claims during this time. My bag was recently stolen and I have been advised I am covered for theft however because I was not severely injured I am not actually covered! The customer service was incredibly poor! I waited on hold for a total of 4 hours during the day I put in my claim. I am incredibly disappointed in this insurance company, I feel like I have wasted my time and my money with them. I would NOT recommend using this insurance ever!

Christina Staff # U224510 provided the best service I have ever had in the insurance industry. She helped me issued me a new policy within 15 minutes and EXTREMELY HELPFUL to meet my settlement deadline. It is WHO you talk to makes the BIG difference. Obviously no way to pick due to the VERY MUCH COMPLICATED answering system. Wish all the staff are like this lady, so pleasant and professional to deal with!

My experience with Aami has been a positive one until I had to make a claim.
A claim can be made online and that makes thing easy. But if one needs to make a call about it, is a different matter. Two times I was put on hold for 45 minutes. This is completely unacceptable and very frustrating. This may encourage some people to choose another insurer, and I have done it already.

Our car was towed almost four weeks ago, and after putting in the insurance claim with AAMI, not once have we been contacted with a status update or when we will receive our car back. We have chased them multiple times for an update, and yesterday were advised that the car is still being assessed and the claim is only now being processed. Each representative that we’ve spoken to has not been able to provide us comfort with the process or how much longer we will be without a car – Apparently no notes in their system on our previous discussions / claim which I find poor for a company this size.

AAMI did offer compensation for their slow assessment time – 5% off a hire car.  More of an insult offer than anything.

Having no car for an unforeseeable time is a huge inconvenience to our family, especially having young kids. Knowing our car has been sitting at the mechanics for almost a month without an assessment is highly frustrating, and it pains me to think how much longer it will be there for.

We have a home insurance claim going currently due to water damage and by comparison, the home insurance claim through Budget Direct has been excellent. They have followed up our claim every other day and have continued to keep us informed on the progress of the claim.

Based on this experience and service we’ve recently received from AAMI, we will be looking for another insurance provider once this claim is complete. Extremely disappointed – We wouldn’t be recommending their service.

Has to be the worse experience, my car was rear ended. The individual who did it. Does not want to give there address. I cannot get a hire car for this reason. honestly cannot wait for our claim to finish so we can move on from these clowns. Only taking money from people not helping in anyway.

Horrible is not a word for this insurance company. They are by far the worse insurance i have dealt with.

Disgusting.
Was told AAMI would help get me a loan car what they didn't tell me was their "help" was actually 5% discount with Hertz despite my car taking over TWO months to repair.

They're literally punishing me for an accident I wasn't even at fault for!

Terrible experience with AAMI, received contradictory information from their total loss team which caused me to be out of pocket thousands of dollars for a new vehicle when I was promised to be receiving my payout for my written off car in the next day or so but when I called to check on the progress of this payment they informed me that they would not be sending it through and even rudely hung up when I was trying to explain that the previous person I spoke to was adamant that it would be paid with no problems which would be a recorded conversation. The next person I spoke to ended up telling me they would send a cheque in the mail which will cause much more of a delay. Between the countless hours left on hold and the inconsistent information and poor customer service, apparently this is what you have no choice but to deal with when an AAMI customer hits your car.

Two and half hours of waiting on the phone for someone to answer me regarding my claim. I am so not happy right now! I hate swearing, but man I feel like shouting some words.
I'm better off going back to my previous insurer - COMM Insure. At least these guys are on the ball.
