I've hesitated a long time before posting this review. The service is just so good, as a patron I do feel a little like the dog in a manger who wants it all to himself. The ambience is ideal and is comparable to any of the world's great libraries. It certainly has a dignified silence but discreet chatter and chuckle is permitted. Fabulous balcony with great views. Friendly and very knowledge staff. Interesting general collection in addition to law and a provocative, modest art collection. The legal catalogue is, as you would expect, unrivalled in the State by a considerable margin and must be one of the best in the country. The more antique volumes are cared for well -- but are on the public shelves! Rarer items such as Notable British Trials are easily accessed. One of Brisbane's best kept secrets.

The sound of mechanical stamps hitting paper that echoes and reverberates across the five story high atrium above the foyer is somewhat sensual.
