So usefully havering a Justice of the Peace here. The fact there's usually someone available after 3 or 4pm every day of the week is a real assistance to the local community. The number of times I've attended it's been a different JP sitting but I had confidence in them as they questioned me appropriately and explained what I needed if something was missing without overstepping their role. (They explained why something was refused but said what was needed for witnessing)

Appalling decision making. Attended court this morning only to have the entire matter rejected and $50 awarded to the tenant for making the application. There is no provision in the legislation for a tenant or an agent to be awarded costs on a bond application. The adjudicator on this matter needs to be more educated.

Holland Park is a two bit courthouse and the decisions coming from that building are beyond tenant sympathetic.

Dreadful wrongdoings done to me by the Holland Park Magistrates Court.
I paid over a $100 to open a QCAT case against a mechanic who stole money from me and have it heard in a court of law, namely the Holland Park Magistrates Court, also providing precise details of my residential or mailing addresses, including signing an address change form, clearly specifying where I'd be living at any given point in time. Costly and disastrous filing errors made by the administrative team at the Holland Park Courthouse (HPCH) meant that mail sent to notify me of the court date set, was sent to the wrong address despite clear instructions given initially on where to send my mail to depending on the date. This was confirmed over the phone by a staff member of the admin team, who admitted to me the mail was sent to the wrong address. Numerous attempts to follow up on this matter over the past few months including phone calls made to HPCH, responded to with promises of following up the matter via a return phone call, by the person I spoke to over the phone at HPCH, yet weeks later, still no-one rang me back. Also constant tardy replies to my emails. Also constantly spelling my surname wrong, despite attempting to clarify several times. Now they have the audacity to ask me to pay a filing fee to reopen the case when it was not my fault in the first place I was not present at the previously set court date, as I had no idea of the date to attend, all thanks to the numerous mistakes made by the admin team at HPCH, not to mention the poor and dismissive customer service.
I have kindly asked numerous times to have a new court date set, but have just been met with deflection of blame, (despite them initially accepting blame for their wrongdoings) and insisting for me to fill out forms, and pay more fees, when I shouldn't have to, because none of this is my fault. All these delays have caused me a great deal of mental stress and pain, as this has dragged on far longer than it should.

Went and got assistance from Harold the JP, he was great, very calm, professional and thorough. Then at the counter the clerk whose name I didn't get, was outstanding! He kindly took care of the delivery of the document back to QCAT in town for me; thus saving me a lot of time and petrol. I just wish the justice system worked as well as admin!

One of the most rudest judges here and standing officer. Just had a traffic offence. Was pretty much yelled at instead of spoken to about my offence. Wanted plea guilty but still got spoken to like a idioit

This place is impossible to get to, no parking and only an occasional bus a few hundred meters away. Website gives hrs the JP is available but twice I've attended to be told his not in today. QCAT said I could lodge my forms there only to be told by the staff we don't accept them here. 2nd visit i attempted to lodge papers for Births, Deaths & Marriage I stood at the counter & staff look at you & walk away. No assistance offered, no quick "we'll be with you shortly". The place should be shut down, can't offer the services stated & location is a nightmare.
