Mt Clear Take-away fish and chips

My personal favorite has to be the lamb souvlaki's but I haven't had any complaints about any of the other food either always hot fresh and a joy to eat.
The owners are always lovely and ready with a smile. Fantastic customer services and wouldn't change a thing. Even if paying only with cash only can be a little tricky sometimes.

Previously gave 5 stars & voted for these guys on 3BA's 'Best Of', but wonder if there is new management lately. Last week we ordered $47 worth of fish&chips and it was all inedible...black, burnt through pumpkin cakes, scallops that were solid and burnt. The fish was ok, the potato cakes were blackened inside. We didn't order chips... Whoever took this order out of the fryer & wrapped it up should've said 'Can't serve that' & done it again. It was a phone order, so they had time to do a re-cook. Not good enough, sorry. After 10+ years, we'll be looking for a new chippy...sad, but you can't dish up burnt, inedible food AND charge for it...👎👎

Nice chips but fish was paper thin rubber in awful batter as were the potato cakes. Hamburger was ok only. I would not return despite living close by.

I'm not sure if the owners have changed, or we just got the last minute left overs. But we had fish, dim sims, chips from here tonight and it was all over cooked and very unpleasant. I couldn't eat it.

So small chips too salty thought I was going to due of heart related issue from 1 chip

Had fish , potatoe cakes, dim sim, and steak burger , for tea tonight. All over cooked and dried out , waste money , won't be back.

A good "Greek Style" Fish and Chip shop, not the super high quality seafood we have come to expect from the new wave of fish shops, but instead the good old fashioned fish n chips that we grew up and still love. Cash only, but there is an ATM 100 meters away and a Supermarket 200 meters away so it is easy to get cash. They seem to take 10 to 15 mins quiet or busy to cook your order. Fish 7/10; Hamburger 8/10; Souvlaki 6/10. Friendly people, fairly quick service and very easy to get a park 7/10 overall

Used to be amazing but recently the minimum chips is bad . $4 worth of chips is a little more than a handful. I rang and asked and the excuse was chips have doubled in price ... didn't know potatos where that expensive.
You have lost a frequent customer for life
