The Eastern Hotel

Manager is rude. Unfortunately it's still one of the cheapest stays in Balla - for good reason - but if you can avoid do so.

This is a live music venue first and foremost and among the finest in rural Victoria. Despite being a small venue they still manage to pull in many high profile touring acts including many international acts. Perfect if you want to witness your favourite musical artist in a more intimate setting.

Maintains a great vibe and very down to earth atmosphere and the taps are well maintained ensuring a fine drop that always tastes great!

A truly legendary pub!

I got attacked by a resident here years ago. They had some homeless living here and one of them held the master key to all rooms.
Fortunately it's under new management and looks amazing.
Was a shitheap when I lived here

Was advertised as a hotel, not a hostel...
Stains on the doona cover, dirty shared amenities and kitchen, extension leads laying everywhere.

Walked in, sat down for 10 minutes to book another room elsewhere and left.

Also rude, derogatory and unhelpful manager, as can be seen by other reviews...
Someone needs to go to some customer service seminars and perhaps look at changing the name from "the eastern hotel" to "below average hostel in ballarat east" or perhaps "marginally better than sleeping in your car inn"

I enjoyed staying at the eastern for a few days, others might be bothered by the music playing below in the bar but i slept alright. The service & access to the building is all online so no need to bother interacting with reception.

This was a charmer ! Impeccably clean throughout, great presentation, service and communication. I arrived on the Sunday evening and yes there was a band playing and people enjoying themselves but it was not overly loud nor intrusive and finished at a reasonable hour (l slept through it). The following Monday to Wednesday was quiet and personable. The bathrooms and guest amenities were kept pristine and the other guests were respectful. It is not modern, it is heritage accommodation and very thoughtfully preserved. I will stay there again !

Had a great stay hear, the accommodation was what it says it is! It is a budget hotel, it's clean, and close to town! The music and pub downstairs was awesome! Cheers to The Eastern!

Don't stay here!! Believe me, this is the worst hotel in my life, downstairs it's a bar and the music is sooo high, the people sometimes is coming in the corredors and the share toilet doesn't have hot water, don't stay here!!
